MEET
둥지 [Dwoong-Gee] or Aery means a large bird’s nest. In Korean, it’s not only a birds nest, but it is the act of growing and nurturing an egg. All of us at Aery (Dwoong Gee), are all about cultivating and educating people about Korean food and culture. Our sister restaurant has been in the neighborhood for the past 15 years. We hope to bring the same kind of authenticity and genuinity as Ichiban. We are just here to make good food and feed your inner kid. Come and enjoy our soups or fried chicken or cool down with our Shikhae slushie. We are here for you.
OUR TEAM
Suzy has been working in the food industry for the past 45 years. She grew up in the southern part of South Korea (Busan) where she learned most of her recipes that she is known for in the DMV area. She has been a pillar of Korean cuisine in this community for the past 20 years. Everyone that meets her loves her energy and her generous heart. She puts all of her love into her food and she is grateful to be able to feed this community.
Nicole is a MOCO native who has lived in New York for the last 16 years. Jonathan is a Queens, NY native. They both met in Art School in New York City. In 2019, they moved to MOCO to bring their love of food and people that they cultivated in New York to Maryland. With their creative flare and experience in the big city, they hope to bring a new vibe to Gaithersburg.
Ichiban in Gaithersburg is our sister restaurant. Serving our community & beyond for the past 16 years. We have closed this location, but we hold the memories in our hearts. Thank you for all of you who have supported us the last 17 years!
